E-Giving
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Cor 9:7
Giving is an act of worship. As members of one Body, we must consistently remind one another of the truth that everything we have is a gift from the Lord. Through Jesus' death on the cross we are given the most greatest gift of all and because of this gift of grace we are to respond by giving cheerfully, sacrificially, and consistently as a part of our worship to the Lord. When we are generous with one another, we are a reminder to those around us of the generosity of Jesus Christ.

Commonly Asked Questions About Online Giving
Q. What are the major advantages of electronic giving?
Online giving is about convenience for you and consistency for the church. It allows you to make one-time donations or to set up a schedule of automatic donations. By setting up a password-protected profile, you will be able to log in at any time to make donations, change a recurring donation plan or view your personal giving history. This eliminates frequent check writing and helps you stay on track with pledges even when you are unable to attend services. The church in turn benefits from much-needed donation consistency and a reduction in the volume of check and cash contributions that must be handled and manually processed in the church office.
Q. Why recurring donations?
Recurring donations help members stay on track with their pledges and also helps the church to rely on regular contributions. It reduces check writing for frequent donors, allows donations to continue uninterrupted during absences, allows pledges to be spread out over time, reduces administrative costs for the church, and consumes fewer resources than paper check processing.
Q: Why can’t I give by credit card?
First, direct debit from your bank account allows your entire gift to go to the church. When using a credit card, some of your gift must go to pay the credit card company. Second, although many pay off their credit cards each month, many do not. We do not want to potentially put someone in the place of going in debt and paying credit interest on gifts given to the church.
Q. When will my contribution be debited from my account?
For a recurring donation, a debit to your account will occur each week or month on the date you specify.
Q. How will I keep track of contributions in my check register?
Since your contribution is made at a pre-established time, you simply record it in your check register on the appropriate date. Electronic contributions will appear on your bank statement.
Q. What can I use to prove I made a contribution?
Your bank statement will show an itemized list of electronic transactions that can be used as proof of your contributions. You will also receive your regular statement of contributions from MGEFC.
Q. Is giving by direct debit risky?
Direct debit is certainly less risky than writing checks or carrying cash to church. To process electronic donations, the church uses Vanco Services, LLC—an established and highly-regarded company that moves funds directly from church members to the church on the same day without any delay. Vanco processes contributions for more than 10,000 churches and nonprofit organizations.
Q. How much does direct debit giving cost?
It costs you nothing and it costs the church very little. It is the lowest cost method of transferring funds.
Q. Can I designate my giving online?
Yes. You can designate one-time or recurring donations to the General Fund, Missions Fund, Foundation in Faith (debt retirement) or Benevolence Fund.
Q. What if I try electronic giving by direct debit and don’t like it?
You can cancel your authorization at any time.
